Cleaning methods explained
Softwash vs Pressure Washing: Which Is Right for Your Surface?
The right method depends on the surface, not on what you happen to own.

The short answer
Hard, durable surfaces such as concrete and some paving suit pressure washing. Softer, more delicate surfaces such as render and roof tiles need a gentler softwash. Many jobs use a mix.
Where pressure washing suits
- Concrete and tarmac
- Many paving surfaces, with care
- Hard standing, yards and car parks
Where softwashing suits
- Render and painted walls
- Roof tiles
- Cladding and fascias
Why the surface decides
Too much pressure can mark, crack or strip a surface, or force water where it should not go. We look at what you have before choosing, and we say which method we plan to use.
