Exterior Cleaning for Care Homes and Sheltered Housing

Windows, roofs, gutters, paths, car parks and more, cleaned with visits planned around your residents.

Care Homes & Sheltered Housing by Your House Wash

The short version

For care homes and sheltered housing, a tidy exterior matters to residents and visitors. We plan visits considerately and agree access and working areas before we start.

Every site is quoted individually. We agree who we deal with, the areas and services, how often, access and working times, and how you want to be invoiced, before any work starts.

Every Exterior Service a Care Home May Need

A care home's exterior is seen every day by residents, families, staff and visitors, and it is often judged before anyone steps inside. These are the services we can provide, each quoted for your site.

Window cleaning

Resident rooms, communal areas, entrance glazing and frames, cleaned to a schedule agreed with you. Higher windows are quoted individually.

Roof cleaning

Moss, algae and lichen cleaned from roofs, usually with a low-pressure softwash, which is gentler than a jet wash on roof coverings.

Gutter clearance

Debris cleared from gutters before it causes overflow and staining down the walls.

Render, brick and cladding

Algae and green staining cleaned from walls, entrances and frontages. See our guide to softwashing.

Paths, car parks and patios

Communal paths, ramps, car parks, patios and seating areas jet washed or cleaned with a method chosen for the surface. Slippery green algae on a walkway is something we are often asked to deal with.

Conservatories and garden rooms

Conservatory roofs, frames and glass cleaned, including the roof panels that are hard to reach.

Bin stores and service areas

Bin stores, delivery areas and back-of-house yards that visitors do not see but staff and contractors use every day.

Working Around Residents

  • We agree the days, times and working areas with you before we start, and tell you who will be on site.
  • Where an area needs closing off, such as a path or a car park section, we agree how it is cordoned and signed with you first.
  • Wet, noisy or slippery work is planned so that doors, windows and entrances stay as usable as they can be.
  • We confirm each visit by text, and tell you how you want completion confirmed, whether that is a message, a call or a note for the manager.
  • We work in sections where we can, so the home can carry on as normal.

What We Will Ask You

  • Who the right contact is for access and for sign-off, which may be the home manager, a maintenance lead or head office.
  • Any site rules, visitor sign-in or paperwork the home or the group needs. Tell us what you require and we will confirm what we can provide before any work begins.
  • Any areas to avoid, residents' rooms to work around and times that are best or worst.
  • Whether you want a one-off clean or a regular schedule across several sites.
  • How you want to be invoiced, and who should receive the invoice.

Care Groups and Several Sites

If you manage more than one home, we can quote each site individually, with a clear scope for every home and one point of contact for the whole group. A first visit to one site is a sensible way to start, and a regular schedule can follow if it works for you.

Honest limits. We will always tell you honestly what a clean can and cannot achieve. Staining that has gone into a surface may not fully come out, growth can return, and we do not promise results we cannot be sure of. Nothing starts until you have agreed the scope in writing.

Questions

Can you work around residents?

We agree timing and working areas with you so that disruption is kept to a minimum.

Can you clean communal paths?

Yes, as part of a jet washing scope agreed in the quote.

Can we have regular visits?

Yes, we agree a schedule with you.

Can you look after several homes in a group?

Yes. We quote each home individually and can work with one point of contact for the group.

Can you clear slippery algae from paths and ramps?

Yes, we clean paths, ramps and car parks, and tell you what to expect. Cleaning removes the growth that is there, and growth can return over time.

Do you provide risk assessments or other paperwork?

Tell us what your home or group requires and we will confirm what we can provide before any work begins.

How do I get a quote for my home?

Send us the address, a few photos and what you would like cleaned, and we will come back with a clear, individual quote.
